Last Thursday, the Trion Lady Dogs softball team fell short to the Gordon Lee Trojans with a score of 8-0. Brystal Bowman had the only hit in the third inning with a double to left field. The Lady Dogs had a tough time putting runs on the board. Lexi Baker led the Lady Dogs with two hits in three at bats. 

The Trion Lady Dogs’ Varsity team changed things up Saturday against Darlington shutting them out 7-0. Aubrey Burke did not allow a single run and led the Lady Dogs to victory. The girls opened up scoring in the third inning with Baker hitting a single, letting Jenna Mosley score on the throw. The Lady Dogs played a great fourth inning offensively, with Baker hitting a homer on a line drive, allowing Mosley and I’ziah McCutchins to cross the plate bringing the score to 4-0. Aubree Hines also scored for the Lady Dogs in the fifth inning, followed by Baker hitting a double, which let Kinzleigh Turner and Anna Grace Brown score. Baker collected four hits in four at bats to help lead the girls to win, also having an RBI alongside Madison Huskey in the fifth inning. Burke was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dogs, surrendering zero runs and striking out 11. The Lady Dogs’ Varsity had 11 hits in the game with Baker and Ransley Lawrence both managing to get multiple hits. The Lady Dogs play Drew Charter Tuesday and take on Armuchee Thursday.
