THS Work Based Learning

WHAT IS WBL?

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Work-Based Learning Programs are structured educational experiences that integrate classroom learning (school-based) with productive, structured work experiences (work-based), which are related to a student’s career goal and program of study.

NON DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

It is the policy of the Trion City School System not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or disability in any employment practice, educational program, or any other program, activity or service

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE WBL PROGRAM:

1. You will NOT be allowed to leave the first day of school. So please make arrangements with your employer now. There is paperwork that you will need to complete prior to leaving for work.

2. You will be REQUIRED to sign out electronically each day. There is a QR code that you can use downstairs in the lobby to sign out. Failure to do this will cause 0's in the grade book and reported unexcused absence.

3. We will have monthly meetings (either face-face or virtual) and your attendance is MANDATORY. We will have them during our WBL class time. PLEASE DO NOT come to my room at any other time to meet with me. These meetings are a part of your GRADE and I will tell you the dates two weeks prior so you can make arrangements with your employment.

4. There will be 4 employer evaluations throughout the year. Two each semester. These count as 50% of your grade. Please make sure to get these back to me as soon as possible.
